Russian Strike on Buses in Kramatorsk Kills 30 Civilians
On Thursday, a Russian strike on two buses in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, resulted in the deaths of 30 civilians, marking one of the deadliest attacks in recent weeks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the incident, stating that it would not go unanswered.
The attack involved a glide bomb, and local authorities reported that the aftermath included burnt vehicles and bodies scattered on the road. Additionally, three more individuals were killed due to shelling in a nearby village.
This incident follows another attack in Pryluky, where 22 people, including five children, were killed when a Russian missile struck an apartment building. Ukrainian officials, including Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin, accused Russia of intentionally targeting civilians, while the Kramatorsk City Council labeled the strike as a horrific crime against non-combatants. The ongoing conflict has seen a significant rise in civilian casualties, with the United Nations verifying over 17,000 deaths since the start of the war.
