Russian Strikes Leave 600,000 Without Power in Ukraine Amid Starlink Restrictions
Following recent Russian missile and drone attacks, at least 600,000 individuals in Ukraine are currently without electricity, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The strikes targeted critical energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Kharkiv, resulting in three fatalities in the capital.
Russian forces claimed their strikes focused on communications and energy facilities utilized by Ukraine's military. Additionally, Zelensky's adviser indicated that new speed limits imposed on the Starlink communications network have hindered Ukrainian military missions, with restrictions reportedly affecting operations at speeds above 160 km/h.
The Ukrainian defense ministry confirmed the connectivity issues, complicating various military operations. Meanwhile, Ukraine's air force reported that Russia launched 39 ballistic and cruise missiles along with 128 drones overnight, with several intercepted. Zelensky is set to meet with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham to discuss enhancing air defense supplies.
