Ryan Blaney Claims Pole Position at Iowa Speedway
Ryan Blaney achieved pole position at Iowa Speedway during an unusual qualifying session, recording a lap time of 23.474 seconds in his No. 12 Team Penske Ford. He narrowly beat Kyle Larson, who drives the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, by 0.018 seconds.
This marks Blaney's 15th career pole and his first at Iowa, where he previously won the inaugural Cup race in 2024. His teammate, Joey Logano, qualified third.
Brad Keselowski, who qualified fourth, crashed during his second lap and will start at the back of the field. Other notable qualifiers include Tyler Reddick in fifth and Ty Gibbs in sixth. Chase Elliott, after sustaining damage in practice, will start 32nd. Ryan Preece, currently below the cut-line, will begin the race in 35th position.
