Ryan Day Identifies Concerns After Ohio State's First Practice

As Ohio State football begins its preseason practice, head coach Ryan Day expresses several concerns regarding the team's performance. This marks Day's eighth season, and he aims for another top 10 finish following last year's fifth-place ranking.

Day highlighted the offensive line as a primary area of focus, noting the need to assess its composition after a challenging offseason. He also mentioned the tight end position, where depth exists but clarity on who will take the majority of reps is needed. Backup quarterback and receiver positions are also under scrutiny, alongside the running back role, which features returning 1,000-yard rusher Bo Jackson.

Despite the return of key players, including All-American receiver Jeremiah Smith, Day acknowledged the competition for positions, particularly at running back, where Isaiah West has shown promise. Freshman Legend Bey was absent from practice due to a team rules violation but is expected to return soon. The Buckeyes are set to open their season against Ball State on September 5.
