Ryan Fitzpatrick Raises Concerns Over Malik Willis' Starting Role with Dolphins

Malik Willis is set to take on the starting quarterback role for the Miami Dolphins, but former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has raised doubts about the situation. Fitzpatrick highlighted the team's significant dead cap of $182 million and the challenges posed by a first-time head coach, Jeff Hafley, as potential obstacles for Willis.

Willis, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2022, has only started six games in his NFL career, primarily serving as a backup. After his time with the Titans and the Green Bay Packers, he joined the Dolphins on a three-year, $67.5 million contract following Tua Tagovailoa's departure.

Despite Hafley's enthusiasm for Willis, Fitzpatrick predicted a difficult season ahead for the Dolphins, suggesting they could face a historic 0-17 record if they lose their upcoming game against the Raiders. The Dolphins' preseason performance, which included three losses, has added to concerns about their prospects for the regular season.
