Ryan Preece Secures First NASCAR Cup Win at Daytona
Ryan Preece celebrated a significant milestone by winning his first NASCAR Cup race at Daytona International Speedway, ending a 248-race winless streak. This victory also marked RFK Racing's first win of the 2026 season and secured Preece a spot in the Chase.
During the race, Preece overcame early challenges, including a slide through the infield grass, to take the lead on the final restart. He finished ahead of Shane van Gisbergen, who, despite winning Stage 1, was bumped from the Chase field, marking a disappointing outcome for Trackhouse Racing, which failed to qualify any of its cars.
Daniel Suarez finished in second place, moving up in the standings, while Zane Smith faced a frustrating end after crashing while leading. Harrison Burton, filling in for Riley Herbst, finished 12th in his first Cup start since 2024. Chris Buescher experienced a tough race, finishing 40th after a crash, marking his worst finish in five years.
