Ryan Waldschmidt Makes History with Walk-Off Home Run for Diamondbacks

Rookie outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt made a significant impact in Arizona Diamondbacks history with a walk-off home run against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

With the Diamondbacks trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th inning and two outs, Waldschmidt was brought in as a pinch-hitter for Jorge Barrosa. Facing Cubs reliever Jacob Webb, he hit an 84-mph slider deep into the left-field seats, securing a 5-4 victory for his team.

This achievement made Waldschmidt the first rookie in Diamondbacks history to hit a pinch-hit walk-off home run. The win also brought Arizona closer to the San Diego Padres in the race for the final NL Wild Card spot.
