Ryan Wood and Tony D'Alberto Involved in Crashes During Bathurst 1000 Practice
During the third practice session of the 2026 Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama, drivers Ryan Wood and Tony D'Alberto were involved in separate crashes on Friday morning.
Ryan Wood, driving the number 2 Walkinshaw TWG Racing entry, crashed after hitting the inside wall at Forrest's Elbow, resulting in his Toyota colliding with the outside barrier. The impact was measured at 42 G-forces, but Wood was later cleared by medical staff. He expressed regret for the additional work his team would need to undertake to prepare the car for the upcoming qualifying session.
In another incident, Tony D'Alberto crashed his number 38 Dick Johnson Racing entry at The Dipper just before the session concluded, necessitating a tow back to the garage.
