Ryo Hirakawa to Replace Esteban Ocon for Mexico City Grand Prix
Haas has confirmed that Ryo Hirakawa will replace Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend. The decision comes without a clear explanation, although the team stated that it is not due to illness.
Hirakawa, a 32-year-old driver with two FIA World Endurance Championship titles and a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, participated in the first practice session at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, finishing 15th overall. He will partner with teammate Ollie Bearman during the final practice and qualifying sessions, as well as the main race.
The team has not provided further comments regarding the change. Speculation has arisen about the reasons behind Ocon's replacement, including a recent radio exchange during practice where he questioned a tire strategy decision.
