South Africa's head coach Rassie Erasmus has opted to start Handre Pollard at fly-half, while injuries have prompted the inclusion of Ethan Hooker and Cobus Reinach in the starting lineup.

Siya Kolisi may return from a hamstring injury, with Paul de Villiers named as a backup. Deon Fourie, who played in the 2023 Rugby World Cup final, could also make his return from the bench. Erasmus noted that while there were positives in the last match, critical mistakes hindered their performance.
