Saco Oliveros de Lince Claims Victory at FIDE ISCF World Schools Championship
The FIDE ISCF World Schools Team Championship 2026 concluded at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cariari in San José, where Saco Oliveros de Lince from Peru emerged victorious. The team maintained an unbeaten record throughout the tournament, finishing with 15 match points out of a possible 16.
On the final day, Saco Oliveros began with a decisive 4–0 victory over Saint Gabriel's School from Chile, solidifying their lead. Harvest Park Middle School from the United States and Crescent Heights Academy from Canada also performed well, securing second and third places respectively, and all three teams will advance to the Grand Final in December.
The closing ceremony featured a tribute to mothers, coinciding with Costa Rica's Mother's Day. Players shared heartfelt messages and cards for their mothers, creating an emotional atmosphere. The event concluded with awards for individual performances and team medals, marking the end of the American Continental Stage before the championship moves to Europe.
