Sacramento Kings Explore Veteran Point Guard Options
The Sacramento Kings are reportedly looking to acquire a veteran point guard to mentor rookie Darius Acuff Jr. Reports indicate that the team is considering re-signing Russell Westbrook, who played for the Kings last season.
Westbrook, 37, participated in 64 games for Sacramento last season, averaging 15.2 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game. Despite his experience, his shooting percentages were below his career averages. The Kings also have their sights set on Victor Oladipo, who has faced significant injuries in recent years and last played in the NBA during the 2023 playoffs.
Currently, the Kings have 13 players under standard contracts and are looking to finalize their roster before the season begins. They are slightly below the tax line and may need to make salary adjustments to accommodate new signings.
