Sai Sudharsan Prepares for New Zealand Tour with Ranji Trophy Participation
B. Sai Sudharsan announced on Wednesday that he has been instructed by the National selectors to participate in the Ranji Trophy to prepare for India's forthcoming tour of New Zealand.
After completing his duties with India-A in Puducherry, he arrived in Jaipur on the night of October 10, just before Tamil Nadu's Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan. He received confirmation from the interim chief National selector, Pragyan Ojha, that playing in the Ranji Trophy would be beneficial for his preparation for the New Zealand series.
To enhance his readiness, Sudharsan has been reviewing past Test matches played by India in New Zealand, noting the expected windy conditions and good bounce, which he compares to England's playing conditions. He has also studied the batting techniques of former players like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to improve his own skills. Reflecting on a recent injury that kept him from the Test series in Sri Lanka, he expressed optimism about his recovery and growth as a player.
