Saints Release Brock Rechsteiner Following NFL Suspension
Brock Rechsteiner has been waived by the New Orleans Saints following a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy. Initially showing promise during training camp, Rechsteiner's situation deteriorated as he struggled to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
Despite a strong start at rookie minicamp that led to his signing on May 12, Rechsteiner's preseason performance was lackluster, with only one catch for five yards across three games. His suspension further complicated his chances, and by cutdown day, he was among several players released as the Saints finalized their roster.
Rechsteiner, who has a notable wrestling lineage, plans to pursue a career in WWE after football. He has previously expressed interest in joining the wrestling business, encouraged by his cousin Bron Breakker, and has already signed a WWE NIL deal. Reports indicate that WWE remains interested in signing him once his football career concludes.
