Sainz Responds to 'Car Killer' Label for Madrid Circuit

Carlos Sainz has addressed the concerns surrounding Madrid's new racing circuit, which has been dubbed a 'car killer' following 19 red flags during Formula 3 testing. He suggests that Formula 1 should wait to determine if the circuit poses similar risks to its cars.

Williams team principal James Vowles highlighted the circuit's dangers after the test resulted in three broken chassis and six suspension failures. Sainz, who has tested the layout in a simulator, anticipates a challenging race weekend ahead.

The circuit features La Monumental, a long banked section expected to exert significantly more pressure on tires compared to Zandvoort. Sainz, a local resident and event ambassador, noted that the circuit's complexity adds character, and adjustments can be made in the future if necessary.
