Sal Stewart Surpasses Joey Votto in Reds' Record Books

Rookie Sal Stewart has provided Cincinnati Reds fans with a reason to celebrate during a challenging season, hitting his 25th home run in a 6-4 victory over the Athletics.

This achievement allowed Stewart to surpass Reds legend Joey Votto, placing him just 13 home runs shy of matching Frank Robinson's record for the most home runs by a rookie in franchise history.

Stewart's home run came in the fourth inning and marked his second of the month, following a tie with Votto at 24 home runs earlier this month. The 22-year-old infielder has accomplished this feat in significantly fewer games and at-bats compared to Votto's rookie season in 2008, where Votto hit 24 home runs.
