Sale of Former Aintree Fire Station Planned Due to Redevelopment Challenges

Best Care Liverpool has announced plans to sell the former Aintree Fire Station in Fazakerley, Liverpool, due to financial constraints related to its redevelopment. The building, which dates back to 1926, was purchased by the company in 2024 with intentions to convert it into four flats and offices.

Nora Darwin, the company's director, indicated that challenges with the local council's planning department made the project increasingly difficult and costly. Liverpool City Council stated that it had worked collaboratively with Best Care, emphasizing the need to adhere to planning policies and public interest.

The fire station, which closed in May 2024, was sold for £650,000, and the company had proposed retaining the building's façade while developing the interior. However, planning difficulties have led to the decision to abandon the redevelopment efforts.
