Sam Darnold Expected to Miss Weeks with Injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will be sidelined for at least four weeks following a soft-tissue injury to his glute, which he sustained during the team's Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots on September 9. Darnold's absence will extend to the Seahawks' Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals on September 20.
During a recent segment on NFL Network's Good Morning Football, insider Mike Garafolo indicated that while Darnold could potentially return sooner, the injury is considered unique and may require caution. Backup quarterback Drew Lock is expected to start in Darnold's place for the upcoming games against the Cardinals and the Washington Commanders on September 27.
Despite speculation about Darnold's potential early return, NFL insider Mike Florio suggested that the Seahawks may opt for a conservative approach to avoid aggravating the injury. As of now, the Seahawks are favored by 4.5 points against the Cardinals.
