Sam Jacobs Returns to Adelaide Crows as Assistant Coach

Sam Jacobs, a former ruckman for the Adelaide Crows, is poised to return to the club as an assistant coach for the 2027 season after stepping down from his position as senior coach at Woodville-West Torrens.

This past season, Jacobs led Woodville-West Torrens to the SANFL finals, despite facing challenges with player losses to AFL clubs during the mid-season draft. The 38-year-old will join the coaching staff under senior coach Matthew Nicks, who is expected to face pressure to enhance the team's performance in the upcoming season.

Jacobs previously played 184 games for the Crows before leaving at the end of 2019. He was initially drafted by Carlton in 2007 but returned to Adelaide after three seasons. Throughout his career with the Crows, he was selected for the All-Australian squad three times and earned three Showdown medals.
