Sam LaPorta's Hip Injury Not Expected to Keep Him Out Long
The Detroit Lions are addressing an injury issue concerning tight end Sam LaPorta, who recently sustained a hip injury. The team is optimistic that this concern will not persist for long.
During a press conference, head coach Dan Campbell mentioned that LaPorta experienced some aggravation to his hip following a hit. The team plans to allow him time to recover, with hopes that he will be ready for the start of the season.
LaPorta is also in the process of returning from back surgery that he underwent in late November of the previous year, which had cut his season short. Last season, he recorded 40 receptions for 489 yards and three touchdowns over nine games. Additionally, Campbell indicated that guard Ben Bartch is currently in concussion protocol.
