Sam Marshall Attracts Interest from Victorian AFL Clubs

Sam Marshall, a midfielder for Brisbane, is attracting interest from multiple Victorian AFL clubs as he approaches the end of his contract. The 20-year-old has played 13 games for the Lions, including a Grand Final victory last year, after being selected with Pick 25 in the 2024 draft.

Marshall, who previously played for the Sandringham Dragons, is exploring options in Victoria due to limited senior opportunities in Brisbane's crowded midfield. Clubs such as St Kilda, Essendon, and the Western Bulldogs are keen to add his talent to their rosters, with the Saints particularly interested due to his local ties.

Brisbane aims to keep Marshall, but competition for midfield positions remains high with established players like Hugh McCluggage and Cam Rayner. Additionally, dual Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale is expected to leave for Collingwood, which may not alleviate the midfield congestion for the Lions.
