Sam Switkowski to Join North Melbourne as Development Coach
Sam Switkowski, a retired forward from Fremantle, is set to join North Melbourne as a development coach in 2027. He announced his retirement from playing in August, citing family reasons and a desire to relocate to Victoria.
Switkowski, who will turn 30 next month, played 131 games for Fremantle and was part of the team that reached the Grand Final. He had considered continuing his playing career with another AFL club but ultimately decided against it, although he may still participate in some VFL matches for North Melbourne.
As the first new assistant coach under Jaymie Graham's leadership, Switkowski will work alongside premiership player Kane Lambert. He reflected on his career with Fremantle, expressing pride in his journey and achievements with the club.
