Sammy Smith achieved his first victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series during a dramatic race at Talladega. Driving the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, Smith overtook Ty Majeski in the final moments, finishing just ahead of Tyler Ankrum, who placed second.

The race featured intense competition, with four trucks battling for second place at the finish line. Smith's win comes in his 11th career start in the Truck Series, and he is set to become a full-time driver next year with TRICON Garage.

Throughout the race, tire issues plagued several competitors, leading to multiple cautions and a significant crash involving eight trucks. Despite the challenges, Smith managed to maintain his lead and secure the win by a narrow margin of 0.091 seconds over Ankrum.
