Samson Ryan May Join North Melbourne After Richmond Delisting
Samson Ryan, a ruckman who played 31 games for Richmond, is reportedly being considered by North Melbourne for a potential contract offer following his recent delisting.
Ryan was among three players released by Richmond during the trade period, alongside James Trezise and Tyler Sonsie. The club also announced the departures of Steely Green and Oliver Hayes-Brown, adding to a list of off-season cuts that includes Kaleb Smith and Liam Fawcett.
As Richmond enters a rebuilding phase under Adem Yze, Ryan's position was affected by the signing of Kieren Briggs from GWS, who will compete for the primary ruck position. Ryan, a product of Brisbane's Academy, may have a chance to continue his career, with reports indicating that North Melbourne is leading the pursuit for his services.
North Melbourne has various options to secure Ryan, including delisted free agency and the AFL Draft. The club is also evaluating contract decisions for several of its own players after the trade period.
