San Francisco Giants to Host 2028 MLB All-Star Game
Major League Baseball has confirmed that Oracle Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants, will be the venue for the 2028 MLB All-Star Game. This event will take place for the first time in San Francisco since 2007 and will be the fourth All-Star Game hosted in the city.
While this marks the fourth All-Star Game in San Francisco, it will be the sixth time the Giants serve as the host team, including previous games at the Polo Grounds in 1934 and 1942. The Giants were originally based in New York before relocating to California in 1957.
Giants president and CEO Larry Baer expressed the team's honor in hosting the event, emphasizing their excitement to showcase the city and its fans. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred also noted that San Francisco will be an excellent host for All-Star Week. Currently, the Giants are struggling this season, sitting at 50-71 and facing the possibility of a losing record for the third time in four years.
