Santos Escobar Discusses WWE Return Following Conversation with Nick Khan

Santos Escobar has revealed details about his return to WWE, which followed a conversation with Nick Khan. Escobar, who was part of WWE from 2019 until his release in April 2026, had his last match during the Rey de Reyes 2026 event.

Before his release, there were rumors of him parting ways with WWE in October 2025. However, he later re-signed after Khan reached out to him, expressing regret over how Escobar's character was handled and offering support for his success. Escobar noted that he was a free agent when he received the call from Khan, which prompted his return.

In a recent interview, Escobar also addressed his release, mentioning that he received the call while undergoing therapy for an injury. He emphasized that he had no reason to believe his WWE journey was over, as he had just re-signed and was eager to start his new run.
