Sarfaraz Khan Joins India's Test Squad, Replacing Injured Sai Sudharsan

Sarfaraz Khan has been added to India's Test team for the two-match series against Sri Lanka, replacing the injured B. Sai Sudharsan. This marks Sarfaraz's return to the squad after a 20-month absence, with his last appearance for India being in November 2024.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Sarfaraz's inclusion following consultations with the selection committee and team management, as Sudharsan was unable to recover from a stress injury to his right big toe. Sarfaraz is expected to join the team in Colombo before they head to Galle.

At 28 years old, Sarfaraz had been a strong contender for selection alongside other players like Shaik Rasheed and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Despite being overlooked for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Sarfaraz has maintained his form in domestic cricket, positioning himself for a potential revival of his Test career.
