Saudi Pro League Postpones Matches Due to Houthi Attacks
The Saudi Pro League has announced the postponement of three matches, including one involving Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr, due to the recent escalation of conflict with the Houthis. This decision was made to address logistical considerations and ensure mandatory rest periods between matches.
The fixtures affected include the matches between league leaders Al Hilal and Al Riyadh, as well as Al Ittihad versus Al Shabab, both rescheduled for December 19. The match between Al Ahli and Al Nassr is now set for March 6, 2027. Other matches in the same week will proceed as originally scheduled.
This announcement follows a recent incident where Al Nassr's AFC Champions League match was delayed after a missile fired by the Houthis was intercepted near Riyadh. The ongoing conflict has seen significant violence, including missile strikes on key locations in Saudi Arabia, resulting in casualties and operational disruptions.
