Sawyer Strosnider Hits First Professional Home Run Caught by His Father
Sawyer Strosnider made his professional baseball debut with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, where he hit his first home run on Wednesday afternoon. His mother, Kandi, was watching from the stands while his father, Scott, positioned himself in the right-field bleachers.
As Sawyer hit the ball, Kandi was too excited to see where it went, but Scott managed to catch it, dropping his phone in the process. His catch was later featured on SportsCenter, showcasing the moment he realized it was his son who hit the home run.
Sawyer, a second-round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers, contributed to the Timber Rattlers' 5-3 victory over the Lake County Captains. He also recorded an RBI double later in the game. The family, who traveled from Texas to support him, plans to attend his games monthly as his professional career progresses.
