Scarab Launches 15-Pound Custom Steel Climbing Bike at MADE Show
At the 2026 MADE bike show, Scarab Cycles unveiled the Scarab Serena, a custom steel climbing bike weighing approximately 15 pounds. This model distinguishes itself from previous offerings by focusing on ultralight construction and high-end components.
Scarab, a Colombian manufacturer known for its custom steel bikes, collaborated with Columbus to create a unique set of lightweight steel tubes. The bike features modern elements such as a custom-machined head tube and 3D-printed stainless steel dropouts, achieving a weight comparable to high-end carbon bikes.
The Scarab Serena is available only as a complete bike, with a limited production run of 25 units. Each bike is equipped with premium components, including Campagnolo Super Record 13 and options for high-performance wheels. The starting price for these exclusive builds is $16,167, which includes import duties for the U.S. and Colombia.
