Scott Jamieson Claims Victory at Nexo Championship After 14-Year Wait
Scott Jamieson achieved a significant milestone by winning the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, marking his first title in 14 years. He completed the final round with a score of 67, finishing at 11 under par, two strokes ahead of Matthew Jordan, who was the overnight leader.
This victory represents Jamieson's second triumph on the DP World Tour, with his previous win dating back to the 2012 Nelson Mandela Championship. He expressed his disbelief and joy at the long-awaited win, highlighting the challenges of securing a title and the importance of patience throughout the competition.
Jamieson's win not only ends his drought but also contributes to a streak of Scottish winners at the tournament. Other notable finishes included Andy Sullivan in third place at seven under par, while Euan Walker and Connor Syme tied for tenth at four under. Defending champion Grant Forrest struggled, finishing with a score of 80, resulting in a total of 10 over par.
