Scott McLaughlin Ends 35-Race Winless Streak at Laguna Seca
Scott McLaughlin secured a victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, ending a 35-race winless streak in the INDYCAR season finale. The Team Penske driver led 87 of 95 laps, marking his first win since the birth of his daughter, Lucy, 23 months ago.
Despite clinching his fifth consecutive series title the previous week, Alex Palou's strategy at Laguna Seca fell short, resulting in an eighth-place finish. He acknowledged mistakes in tire decisions but remains the champion by 86 points over Kyle Kirkwood.
Scott Dixon, who has driven for Chip Ganassi Racing for 25 years, is set to join Arrow McLaren in 2027 after finishing 17th in the race and 12th in the overall standings. Former Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher finished 22nd in the race, placing him 23rd overall, and will move to Meyer Shank Racing in 2027.
