Scottie Scheffler Leads FedEx St. Jude Championship After Impressive Round
Scottie Scheffler showcased exceptional golf skills on Friday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he shot a 61, placing him at the top of the leaderboard with a three-stroke advantage over Viktor Hovland and Sungjae Im.
This season has been unusual for Scheffler, who has only one win but has consistently performed well, achieving 11 top-5 finishes in 17 starts, including five second-place finishes.
His 61 at TPC Southwind marked his 11th round of nine-under or better since 2020, the most by any player during that period. Scheffler's performance included leading the field in strokes gained approach and putting, a first for him in a single round on the PGA Tour. His previous best rounds include a 59 at the 2020 Northern Trust and a 60 earlier this year at the Travelers Championship.
