Scottish FA Discontinues Key Match Incident Review Panel

The Scottish FA has announced the discontinuation of its independent panel responsible for reviewing significant refereeing decisions in the Premiership.

This three-member key match incidents (KMI) panel, which included former players and a club representative, had been operational since 2024, aiming to enhance transparency in officiating. However, Dundee United withdrew from the panel last February, expressing doubts about its effectiveness, and it is reported that other clubs have also chosen to withdraw this season.

In place of the KMI panel, SFA head of refereeing Willie Collum will continue to provide monthly video analyses of key decisions through his VAR Review Show on the Scottish FA's YouTube channel. Additionally, Collum will maintain meetings with team captains and managers to discuss officiating incidents, which are viewed as more beneficial for communication.
