Seahawks Opt Against Signing Joe Mixon, Consider Trade for Tony Pollard
The Seattle Seahawks have altered their plans regarding running back Joe Mixon, opting not to sign him after he did not pass a physical examination. Mixon, a two-time Pro Bowler, last played for the Houston Texans in 2024 and missed the 2025 season due to a foot and ankle injury.
With Mixon off the table, the Seahawks are left without a reliable starting running back. Rookie Jadarian Price is currently on injured reserve, and Zach Charbonnet is on the physically unable to perform list. Emanuel Wilson, who started in a recent victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, averaged only 3.9 yards per carry in that game.
In light of these challenges, the Seahawks are encouraged to consider acquiring another running back, with Tony Pollard of the Tennessee Titans being a potential target. The Titans, struggling with a 0-4 record, may be open to trading players as they look to rebuild. Pollard, who has had a successful career, could provide the Seahawks with the depth they need as they aim to defend their Super Bowl title.
