Seahawks Sign Cornerback Terrion Arnold Amid Legal Issues

The Seattle Seahawks have officially signed cornerback Terrion Arnold, more than two weeks after reaching an agreement with him. Following the signing, the league placed Arnold on paid leave due to eight felony charges stemming from an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery incident in Florida earlier this year.

Seahawks General Manager John Schneider discussed the decision to sign Arnold, noting that various factors were considered, including the ongoing legal situation. He acknowledged that the character of Arnold did not align with the serious nature of the allegations. Schneider emphasized that the team respects the legal process and is not rushing the situation, indicating a long-term perspective on Arnold's potential with the team.

Despite the signing, the allegations against Arnold remain serious, and Schneider described them as shocking. He mentioned that had Arnold been on the roster when the allegations surfaced, the team would likely have released him. The Seahawks appear to be taking a calculated risk by signing Arnold, hoping to maintain a relationship with him while his legal issues are resolved.
