Seamus Coleman Considers Retirement from Football
Seamus Coleman, a former defender for Everton, is reflecting on the possibility of retiring from football. The 38-year-old has been without a club since leaving Everton at the end of the last season, where he spent 17 years.
Since his departure, Coleman has been training individually and has not played since participating in a friendly match for the Republic of Ireland in Canada in June. Although he was linked to Sheffield United over the summer, he was not included in the recent Nations League squad. Ireland's head coach, Heimir Hallgrimsson, mentioned that Coleman intends to continue playing and hopes to have him in future camps.
While discussing his situation, Coleman acknowledged the challenges of not being part of a club, stating that it has been difficult both mentally and physically. He has enjoyed spending time with his family and training with his local Gaelic football team, Killybegs, but he remains uncertain about his future in football. Coleman had aspirations to play until Euro 2028, but he is now finding contentment in his current circumstances.
