Sean Brady Discusses Emotional Struggles Following First Loss
Sean Brady has opened up about the emotional turmoil he experienced after suffering his first professional loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in 2022. Following the defeat, which ended his undefeated streak, Brady revealed that he faced unexpected crying spells and sought professional mental health support.
In a recent interview, Brady described how the loss affected his identity, as he had previously believed he would retire undefeated. He mentioned moments of distress, such as crying while driving, and emphasized the importance of hiring a mental coach to help him cope with the aftermath. Despite the setback, Brady expressed confidence in his ability to win a rematch against Muhammad, although Muhammad has since lost the title to Leon Edwards.
Since the loss, Brady has achieved a record of 3-1, with victories over notable fighters including Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns. He recently secured a decision win against Joaquin Buckley and is set to face Gabriel Bonfim in the main event of a UFC Fight Night on November 7 in Las Vegas.
