Sean Brady Withdraws from UFC Vegas 124 Due to Staph Infection
Sean Brady has pulled out of his scheduled fight against Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Vegas 124 due to a staph infection in his knee, which required a three-day hospital stay.
The welterweight fighter was set to compete on November 7 at the Apex in Las Vegas when he experienced sudden swelling in his knee after a training session on October 21. Following a visit to the hospital the next day, doctors drained fluid from his knee multiple times.
Brady attempted to reschedule the fight for December but found that the UFC's December cards were already full. He is now aiming for a spot on the January 16 card in Dallas, either against Bonfim or another opponent. The UFC has replaced the original matchup with a heavyweight bout featuring Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker.
