Sean Payton Supports Bo Nix Amid Offensive Challenges
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton defended quarterback Bo Nix after a 23-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, despite Nix's inconsistent performance this season.
Payton dismissed concerns about Nix's confidence, emphasizing that the team has broader offensive issues, particularly with their running game, which averaged only 3.6 yards per carry in the first four games. In the recent match, the Broncos managed 106 rushing yards on 29 attempts.
Nix's performance against the Chargers included 16 completions on 27 attempts for 123 yards and one touchdown, marking one of his better outings. He currently ranks 24th in the league in QBR. Payton noted the importance of improving their synergy as they prepare for an upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks.
