Sebastien Buemi and Lucas Di Grassi Exit Formula E After Historic Careers

Following the conclusion of the London E-Prix, Sebastien Buemi and Lucas Di Grassi, the last two active drivers from Formula E's inaugural race in 2014, are set to retire from the championship. Buemi will shift his focus to the World Endurance Championship with Toyota, while Di Grassi is retiring from racing entirely.

Throughout their careers in Formula E, Buemi and Di Grassi achieved significant milestones, including a combined total of 21 pole positions and 78 podium finishes, with Buemi holding the record for 17 of those poles. They each claimed two championship titles during the Gen1 era, with Buemi winning in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

Their journey in Formula E began in 2014, with Di Grassi becoming the first-ever winner of the series at the Beijing E-Prix. Both drivers have been pivotal in shaping the early history of Formula E, and their departure marks a significant moment in the sport's evolution.
