SEC Files Lawsuit Against LSU and Lane Kiffin Over Recruitment of Former NFL Players

This legal action coincided with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey's testimony in a Baton Rouge courtroom, where he defended the conference's authority to enforce its rules as several athletes seek to play this fall after previously turning professional.

Among those present in the courtroom were former NFL players Zxavian Harris and Dae’Quan Wright, who are involved in the ongoing eligibility discussions. The lawsuit seeks to prevent LSU from actions that would infringe upon the SEC's rights, with the SEC proposing penalties for violations that include fines and suspensions for coaches. The case highlights the tension between NCAA regulations and the rights of athletes seeking additional eligibility.
