SEC to Appeal Court Decision on Former NFL Players Signing with LSU

This decision follows a preliminary injunction issued by Judge William Jorden, which prevents the NCAA and SEC from penalizing LSU for including these players on their roster.

Wright and Harris, who were previously with Ole Miss, have been practicing with LSU under coach Lane Kiffin after being waived from NFL training camps. The SEC aims to uphold its regulations that discourage member universities from adding former professional athletes to their teams.

The SEC expressed disagreement with the court's ruling, asserting that its presidents and chancellors have established clear standards for competition. The conference intends to defend its authority and the principle of fair competition among its member institutions.
