Sei Young Kim Leads First Round at FM Championship
Sei Young Kim took the lead in the first round of the FM Championship held at TPC Boston, shooting an impressive 8-under 64 on Thursday.
Kim's performance included a remarkable six-hole stretch where she scored 6 under, featuring four birdies and a chip-in eagle on the par-5 seventh hole. She recorded only 24 putts during the round, building on her recent third-place finish at the CPKC Women’s Open.
Close behind Kim, Miyu Yamashita and Emily Kristine Pedersen were one stroke back. Yamashita, who recently won in Edmonton, had a total of 10 birdies but also faced a double bogey on the par-3 eighth. Vancouver's Anna Huang led the Canadian players with a score of 69, while top-ranked Nelly Korda finished with a 72. The tournament features a purse of $4.4 million, the largest outside of the majors on the LPGA Tour.
