Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz Begin US Open Mixed Doubles Campaign

Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz are scheduled to kick off the U.S. Open mixed doubles tournament against Erin Routliffe and Lloyd Glasspool. This match marks Williams' return to the U.S. Open since her last appearance in 2022.

The first round will take place on Tuesday, with Williams and Alcaraz facing a team that emerged from the qualifying tournament. Routliffe and Glasspool secured their spot by winning two matches, both decided by match tiebreakers.

Routliffe previously won the women's doubles title at the U.S. Open in 2022 alongside Gabriela Dabrowski and also claimed the championship in 2023. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic, the top seeds, will compete against Katerina Siniakova and Henry Patten, who are the top-ranked doubles players on their tours.
