Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz to Compete in US Open Mixed Doubles
Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz are set to compete together in the mixed doubles event at the U.S. Open, according to an announcement from the U.S. Tennis Association. The tournament will take place at Flushing Meadows next week.
Alcaraz expressed excitement about the partnership on social media, tagging Williams in a post. Williams, who has returned to competitive tennis after a nearly four-year hiatus, is not expected to participate in singles matches. She has recently played doubles at various tournaments, including Queen’s Club, Wimbledon, and Cincinnati.
Alcaraz, on the other hand, is making his comeback after being out of action since April due to a right wrist injury. He aims to defend his title at the US Open, which he won last year.
