Sergio Garcia Exits LIV Golf, Aims for Ryder Cup Return
Sergio Garcia has confirmed his exit from LIV Golf and is setting his sights on a return to the Ryder Cup, announcing his intention to play on the DP World Tour starting in 2027.
The 46-year-old Spaniard, who previously won two titles during his five seasons with LIV and served as captain of the Fireballs GC team, expressed pride in returning to the tour that has been significant in his career.
Garcia, who has a history of 27 titles across American and European circuits, left LIV following the withdrawal of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the league's subsequent bankruptcy filing. He aims to be part of the Ryder Cup team in 2025, having settled fines that made him ineligible for the 2023 event. While he can compete again, current rules prevent him from serving as a captain or vice-captain.
