Sergio Garcia Leaves LIV Golf to Rejoin DP World Tour
Sergio Garcia, the former Masters champion, confirmed on Thursday that he is leaving LIV Golf to return to the DP World Tour. The 46-year-old Spaniard had been the captain of the Fireballs GC team since joining LIV Golf in 2022.
Garcia announced his decision via social media, stating that the DP World Tour has played a crucial role in his career and expressing pride in returning. He also mentioned the possibility of returning to the PGA Tour and emphasized the importance of strengthening personal relationships.
Throughout his career, Garcia has won 11 titles on the PGA Tour and 16 on the DP World Tour. He achieved two victories in LIV Golf, with wins in Spain and Hong Kong. Recently, he sought to terminate his contract with LIV Golf, which is undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Garcia is among several golfers opting not to return to LIV Golf, including notable players like Jon Rahm and Ian Poulter.
