Sergio Perez Aims for Three More Years with Cadillac in F1
Sergio Perez has indicated that he plans to race in Formula 1 for approximately three more years, during which he aims to contribute to the Cadillac project. After being released by Red Bull at the end of 2024 following a challenging season, Perez joined Cadillac's rookie team, partnering with Valtteri Bottas.
Despite finishing second in the 2023 championship, Perez's performance declined in 2024, leading to only four podium finishes. He has expressed enthusiasm for the Cadillac project, feeling more involved than just a driver as he helps shape the team's direction. Perez noted that this opportunity is rare in a driver's career.
He stated that his decision to retire from F1 will depend on his motivation and focus, which he believes are currently sustained by the Cadillac project. Perez acknowledged the difficulty of recognizing when to step back from racing, emphasizing the importance of being honest with oneself about competitiveness.
