Sergio Perez Extends Contract with Cadillac Until 2029
Sergio Perez has secured a multi-year contract extension with Cadillac, committing to the team until 2029. The 36-year-old driver is preparing to mark his 300th Grand Prix start during his home race in Mexico City this weekend.
Perez joined Cadillac last August ahead of their debut season in Formula One, partnering with Valtteri Bottas. He has achieved six Grand Prix victories throughout his career, including five with Red Bull and one with Racing Point. Despite a challenging start to the 2026 season, where he has yet to score points, Perez expressed his belief in the Cadillac project and his commitment to its development.
Having previously finished third in the 2022 drivers' championship and second in 2023, Perez's recent performances have not met expectations, leading to his departure from Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season. He remains focused on contributing to Cadillac's progress in the coming years.
